Assistant Superintendent of Historic Sites, Parks, Recreation & Historic SitesThis position performs duties in daily operation of the historic sites including the Jesse James Farm and Museum, Jesse James Bank Museum, Mt. Gilead Church and School, and Pharis Farm. It also includes supervising part-time employees in the absence of the Superintendent of Historic Sites. This position works weekends and holidays as needed. Minimum qualifications include: an undergraduate degree in a related field; a minimum of five years professional experience and/or knowledge of historic site management, interpretation, and exhibit design; demonstated ability to supervise staff, communicate effectively orally and in writing, prepare and present informational lectures; ability to stand and walk frequently and the ability to lift 30 lbs., bend and stoop on a regular basis; ability to meet a regular work schedule as required to complete County business; ability to drive a car and possession of a current, valid driver's license; excellent customer service skills; and the ability to effectively operate office equipment necessary to perform the duties of this position. Desired qualifications include: prior County or City government work experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; and intermediate experience level with Microsoft Office products.
