Custodian (Day Shift), Facilities Management Department

Essential duties and responsibilities include: Perform vacuuming and upkeep of carpets areas, including shampooing and extracting; sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, buffing, stairways, offices, courtrooms and other assigned areas; scrubbing and polishing fixtures, washings windows, mirrors and other areas and equipment; cleaning restrooms and restocking paper and soap supplies; wiping down desks and other furniture, emptying waste baskets, gathering recycling material, emptying ashtrays and cleaning window blinds; picking up litter outside and inside facilities and buildings; servicing janitorial equipment; ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices; securing doors; unlocking and locking buildings, turn lights on and off, etc.; following cleaning schedule as established by the supervisor or lead custodian; operating autos, light trucks, vans, power sweeper, material handling equipment and janitorial power equipment as required; cleaning up blood and other body fluids; maintaining a safe work environment at all times; promoting the safety of employees, co-workers and the general public; gathering recycling material and depositing into the proper place; providing backup to related positions; performing snow removal operations and other assigned outdoor duties; and performing other assigned tasks as required.

Minimum qualifications include: Must have a high school diploma or state-approved equivalent and experience in facilities management; ability to transport oneself to a variety of locations, climbing stairs and ladders; ability to read, follow and understand written policies, procedures, manuals, chemical information, etc. as needed to perform essential job functions; ability to independently and safely carry out tasks, duties and responsibilities assigned; ability to understand and follow safety/OSHA regulations; ability to physically perform essential functions and requirements of the position; ability to work in both an outdoors and indoor environment year round; ability to work a varied schedule as assigned; must possess a valid State Driver's License; and must pass background check and drug screening.

Working Hours:
8:00 - 5:00 Generally

Starting Salary:
$19,308 - $24,133/year, plus Benefits.

Maintenance Mechanic I, Facilities Management Department

Essential duties and responsibilities include: Performing a variety of basic maintenance, reconstruction/remodeling and repair services for County buildings and facilities to ensure proper mechanical operations; functions include electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, carpentry, painting, communication systems and electronics; performing snow removal operations; performing general services such as moving file cabinets, hanging pictures and delivering various items; checking buildings for needed maintenance and repair work per supervisor’s schedule; replacing broken items per work orders; performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs per work orders; performing minor repairs per work orders; removing locking devices and completing repairs or delivering to vendor for repair, replacing same; changing light bulbs and florescent lighting upon request, referring repair and ballast work to electricians; when needed; performing minor carpet repair and laying new carpet when furnished; maintaining grounds and irrigation systems; carrying assigned Duty Pager; preparing surfaces for painting, performing patch and repair, and painting interior and exterior of buildings/facilities; and performing other assigned tasks as required.

Minimum qualifications include: Must have a high school diploma or state-approved equivalent and experience in facilities management; must have one to three years of increasingly responsible related work experience, or equivalent combination of related education and experience; must have experience in a related field such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, electronics, custodial or grounds keeping required; must be able to transport oneself to a variety of locations, climbing stairs and ladders; must posses a valid State Driver's License; and must pass background check and drug screening.

Minimum qualifications include: Must have a high school diploma or state-approved equivalent and experience in facilities management; must have at least three to five years of increasingly responsible related work experience, or equivalent combination of related education and experience; must be able to transport oneself to a variety of locations, climbing stairs and ladders; must possess a valid State Driver's License; and must pass background check and drug screening. Desired minimum qualifications include: Having one to two years field experience in the HVAC and/or plumbing industry.

Working Hours:
8:00 - 5:00 Generally

Starting Salary:
$32,356 - $40,446/year, plus Benefits.
